Powerwave Technologies Expands Patent Portfolio With Five New Patents

IRVINE, Calif. - Feb. 05, 2001 - Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV) today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office recently has awarded five patents to Powerwave Technologies covering several key aspects of Powerwave's RF power amplifier technology. The five patents are centered around Powerwave's unique optimization techniques resulting in increased efficiency and less complexity in Powerwave's RF amplifier designs. The patents include Amplification System Using Baseband Mixer, No. 6,118,339; Amplification System Having Mask Detection, No. 6,147,555; Feedforward Amplification System Having Mask Detection Compensation, No. 6,144,255; Amplification System Having Mask Detection and Bias Compensation, No. 6,140,874; and Feedforward Compensation Using Phase and Time Modulation, No. 6,169,450.
