Powerwave Technologies Adds Daniel A. Artusi To Its Board Of Directors

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Dec. 18, 2002 - Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV) today announced that Daniel A. Artusi, Chief Operating Officer of Silicon Laboratories Inc. (NASDAQ:SLAB) has joined its Board of Directors, expanding the board to a total of nine members.

“We are pleased to welcome Dan to Powerwave’s Board of Directors,” stated John L. Clendenin, Chairman of the Board for Powerwave Technologies. “We believe that Dan’s extensive operating experience in high technology industries will be of tremendous value to Powerwave.”

Mr. Artusi joined Silicon Laboratories in August 2001 as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Silicon Laboratories, Mr. Artusi held various positions at Motorola, Inc. From August 1999 to August 2001, Mr. Artusi served as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Motorola’s Networking and Computing Systems Group. Mr. Artusi served as Vice President and General Manager of Motorola’s Wireless Infrastructure Systems Division from May 1997 to August 1999 and as General Manager of Motorola’s RF Products Division from April 1996 to May 1997.
