Powerwave Wins Internet Telephony's 2009 WiMAX Distinction Award

WiMAX Remote Radio Head – a Key Component Powering Next-Generation 4G Wireless Network Deployments – Honored as Exceptional WiMAX Solution

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Jun. 01, 2009 - Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV), a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions, today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation’s (TMC) INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine has awarded Powerwave with a 2009 WiMAX Distinction Award for its WiMAX remote radio head, a key component powering next-generation 4G wireless networks.

Twelve of the most innovative WiMAX products and services were selected as recipients of this year’s award for their groundbreaking achievement.
