Powerwave to Showcase Innovative Rapid Mobile Deployment Unit for Government and Military Markets at West 2010

Powerwave Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWAV), a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions, will demonstrate its newest wireless mobile communications solutions designed for the government, public safety and military sectors at the West 2010 show (booth #1203) Feb. 2-4 in San Diego.
Among the many innovative mission-critical communications solutions that will be on display at West 2010 is Powerwave’s Rapid Mobile Deployment Unit (RMDU). Designed to enhance the mobile operations of public safety groups, wireless and data center operators, military contractors and government agencies, Powerwave’s RMDU is a lightweight, compact mobile communications site that is quickly and easily deployable.
Providing cost-effective wireless capacity to support both high concurrent call volume and data access in support of a range of operational scenarios – including mission-critical communications for military deployments, areas devastated by natural disaster, or for radio communications during incident management and command and control operations – Powerwave’s RMDU can be deployed in less than 30 minutes and is a single-person operation.
Key features include a telescopic tower that reaches up to 50 meters in height, and can accommodate up to 650 lbs. of equipment such as antennas, surveillance cameras, radars, and sensors. The RMDU also has a fully integrated power generator and automated, touch screen controls for tower control, leveling, power, and antennas. And via Powerwave’s remote management software, the RMDU can even be operated remotely.
