Powerwave prides itself on stringent testing requirements with conservative, yet realistic claims of performance in terms of what our products offer. Our antennas are evaluated on performance and reliability.

Testing Capabilities

Powerwave has the largest indoor antenna measuring range in northern Europe. Our testing facilites are located at the Powerwave Antenna Design Center in Stockholm, Sweden and Santa Ana, California. The measuring range provides the ability to constantly improve and tune the performance of our antennas as well as perform benchmark testing for our customers. The advantage of an indoor antenna range compared to an outdoor antenna range is the consistency of measurement over time due to the controlled reflection environment and climate.

Testing Procedures

The Clean Site Dual solution's basic configuration stems from the Powerwave dual band low band/high band antennas. Electrical performance can be subdivided into a set of parameters/tests that characterize the antenna's ability to function well; however, good performance is also a sign of good quality and a testament to the tremendous amount of effort we put into our antennas in the design stage.

Every Powerwave antenna is verified with the following list of parameters:

  • Radiation pattern
  • Horizontal beamwidth
  • Elevation beamwidth
  • Electrical tilt angle
  • Front-to-back ratio
  • First upper side lobe suppression
  • First null fill below horizon
  • Vertical beam squint
  • XPD (cross polarized antennas only) - Tracking
  • Vertical Nullfill
  • Gain
  • Power handling
  • Return loss
  • Lightning protection
  • Mechanical durability
  • Intermodulation products
