Powerwave is developing a family of integrated radio products to enable new, low-cost base station architectures through RF integration and standard digital interfaces. Key features are complete with RF sub-systems, fiber-fed remote Radio Heads, Digital Interface (CPRI), as well as other available interfaces. Powerwave's integrated radio products are built with field-proven components and technologies. By leveraging existing components, we also realize economies of scale from high-volume manufacturing. This reduces costs while assuring reliability.

An integrated linearized transmitter and MCPA with diversity receivers and a high-speed digital interface. The combined radio functions enable the use of Powerwave proprietary Crest Factor Reduction (CFR) and Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) to reduce cost and improve performance.

The Powerwave Digital Radio Head (DRH) is an integrated transmitter, MCPA, diversity receiver, LNA and duplexer in a single outdoor unit. The DRH offers a radical alternative to the traditional Remote Radio Head and can be relocated from the base station cabinet to a remote location through a low cost fiber optic cable.
