Powerwave Opens Dubai Sales OfficePowerwave expands operations within the region to serve its growing Middle East customer base The Dubai office will serve regional OEMs and operators by providing sales, technical and customer support. Powerwave is focused on building its presence in the Middle East, which it sees as a key growth market. In November 2007, U.A.E.-based market research firm ProLeads, issued a report suggesting that the six oil-rich Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries – Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the U.A.E. – will invest as much as $375 billion on expansion of telecom and related infrastructure over the next decade. “The Middle East has made some significant strides in terms of the adoption of wireless technologies, yet the region remains largely untapped with cellular penetration rates hovering around 35 percent according to recent ITU estimates,” said Ronald J.
