As an ISO14001-certified company, environmental awareness is important to us. Thus, Powerwave has a full portfolio of products that are compliant to the EU's RoHS directive. This includes both full RoHS compliance (informally referred to as 6/6 RoHS) and compliance but invoking the leaded-solder network-infrastructure exemption (commonly referred to as 5/6 RoHS). Powerwave produces products for either level of RoHS compliance per specific customer requests.

The reliability of our RoHS products is backed by extensive qualification. The Pb-free solder we use has been tested with accelerated thermal cycling and mechanical tests (shear, vibration, etc.). Additionally, the manufacturability with this solder has been verified at our global factories. Other RoHS-specific factors affecting product reliability, such as tin whiskering and compatibility of Pb-free solder and Sn63, have been evaluated and accounted for in our designs and piece-part components. The strength of our RoHS designs has been demonstrated by their successful deployment by many of our customers. Powerwave also complies with the documentation requirements of the China RoHS directive. And completing the environmental cycle, Powerwave has established its recycling procedures per the WEEE directive.
